This is a digital composition output to a 1 inch thick plexi for an extra ghostly dimensional effect. I’m thinking of doing some more of this type of ghostly photo composition.
My idea is to put some things like this away in a box which my estranged grandkids can have once they have agency to regain contact with me. Even if I am no longer here, they will know I have been missing them.
My grandsons are estranged through no fault of their own. I shot this self portrait as if looking at them as they once saw me so they would remember me as they once did, even though it may take years before they gain enough agency to seek me out on their own.
Besides the obvious personal meaning for me, I like the sentiment of this piece because it is how I think love operates in the spirit world as well.
